„ME+BeFallen” ist eine literarisch-akustische Arbeit über den Zerfall und die Transformation eines oberfränkischen Fichtenwaldes, die aus fünf Perspektiven erzählt wird. Fichte, Borkenkäfer, Waldbäuerin, Pilzsammlerin in einer dystopischen nahen Zukunft und Myzel in einer utopischen fernen Zukunft im Chthuluzän. Fünf Texte, die über Kopfhörer hörbar sind, begleiten die Drucke von Anna Kubelík. So ist ein multiperspektivisches Erzählgefüge über Waldverlust, Wandel und neue Verbindungen zwischen den Arten entstanden.
Alle Texte wurden von Tarik Goetzke geschrieben und produziert. Gesprochen wurden sie von Anna Kubelík, die sich dabei stimmlich in jede Figur hineinversetzt – von der zarten Fichte bis zum myzelischen Wir.
Die Texte wurden durch aktuelle Forstwissenschaft, multispektrale Anthropologie (Tsing, Haraway) sowie persönliche Erfahrungen mit dem Wald der Mutter von Anna Kubelík inspiriert. Das Projekt stellt Fragen nach Verantwortung, Wandel und neuen Formen des Zusammenlebens zwischen Arten im Anthropozän und darüber hinaus.
Tarik Goetzke ist Autor, Audiokünstler und Theaterregisseur. Er arbeitet interdisziplinär an der Schnittstelle von Ökologie, Narration und auditiver Immersion.
Nach ME+Rome (Villa Massimo, 2017) und ME+Beijing (Goethe-Institut, 2018) ist ME+BeFallen die dritte gemeinsame Audioarbeit von Tarik Goetzke und Anna Kubelík.
→ „ME+BeFallen” wird im Rahmen der Sonderausstellung „Symbiotic Wood” präsentiert. Die Ausstellung ist Teil der Reihe „More than Human“ des Kunstgewerbemuseums der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin. Sie wurde in Zusammenarbeit mit dem Exzellenzcluster „Matters of Activity“ der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin für das ＿matter Festivals 2025 entwickelt.

„BeFallen” ist eine Serie großformatiger Drucke, für die eine Mischtechnik aus Hoch- und Tiefdruck verwendet wurde. (Hahnemühle Papier, 107x78cm) Die Druckstöcke basieren auf Fichtenrinde. Diese wurde im Sommer 2024 im Wald bei Feldbuch (Oberfranken, Deutschland) geerntet – direkt neben dem Kubelíkhof. Die Rinde stammt von toten, von Borkenkäfern befallenen Bäumen. Die Drucke machen die Spuren der Borkenkäfer, die sogenannten Fraßgänge, als ästhetische Linien sichtbar.
Die Serie ist Teil des Langzeitprojekts „ART FROM INFESTATION”, das sich mit Materialästhetik, Ökologie und Fragen des Zusammenlebens von Menschen und Nichtmenschen auseinandersetzt. Die Käfer werden dabei nicht als Schädlinge dargestellt, sondern als Gravierende, als Architekten einer anderen Erzählung.
Die in der ‘Symbiotic Wood’ ausgestellten Drucke sind eine kleine Auswahl einer größeren Serie, die 2025 in der BBK-Druckwerkstatt Berlin entstanden und mit Kohle-, Farb- und Goldpigmenten geprägt sind. Jeder Druck* ist ein Unikat und ein Abbild des Wandels, eine Spur dessen, was vergeht und bleibt.
Anna Kubelík ist Künstlerin und Professorin für Künstlerisch-Experimentelle Darstellung und Gestaltung an der HTWG Konstanz. Sie ist Principal Investigator im Exzellenzcluster „Matters of Activity“ der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. In ihrer künstlerischen Forschung beschäftigt sie sich mit mehr-als-menschlichem Ausdruck und dessen räumlich-klanglicher Kontextualisierung. www.annakubelik.com

ME+BeFallen
“ME+BeFallen” is a literary and acoustic work about the decay and transformation of a spruce forest in Upper Franconia. It is told from five different perspectives. The perspectives are spruce, bark beetle, forest farmer, mushroom picker in a dystopian near future, and mycelium in a utopian distant future in the Chthulucene. Five accompanying texts, which can be heard via headphones, are paired with Anna Kubelík's prints. The result is a multi-perspective narrative structure about forest loss, change, and new connections between species.
Tarik Goetzke wrote and produced all texts. Anna Kubelík narrated them all, voicing every character — from the delicate spruce to the mycelial we.
The texts draw inspiration from current forestry science, multispectral anthropology (Tsing, Haraway), and personal experiences in Anna Kubelík's mother's forest. This project raises questions about responsibility, change, and new forms of coexistence between species in the Anthropocene and beyond.
Tarik Goetzke is an author, audio artist, and theater director. He works interdisciplinarily at the intersection of ecology, narration, and auditory immersion.
Following ME+Rome (Villa Massimo, 2017) and ME+Beijing (Goethe-Institut, 2018), ME+BeFallen is the third collaborative audio project by Goetzke and Kubelík.

BeFallen
“BeFallen” is a series of large-format prints for which a mixed technique of relief and intaglio printing was used. (Hahnemühle Paper, 106x78cm) The printing blocks are based on spruce bark. This was harvested in the summer of 2024 in the forest near Feldbuch (Upper Franconia, Germany) - right next to the Kubelíkhof. The bark comes from dead trees infested by bark beetles. The prints visualise the traces of the bark beetles, known as feeding galleries, as aesthetic lines.
The series is part of the long-term project “ART FROM INFESTATION”, which deals with material aesthetics, ecology and questions of the coexistence of humans and non-humans. The beetles are not portrayed as pests, but as gravitators, as architects of a different narrative.
In 2025 the prints were created in the BBK printing workshop in Berlin and embossed with charcoal, colour and gold pigments. Each print is an image of change, a trace of what passes and remains.
Anna Kubelík is an artist and Professor of Artistic Experimental Representation & Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Konstanz. She is Principal Investigator in the Cluster of Excellence “Matters of Activity” at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
